Welcome to American River College
At ARC we require new students to complete assessment tests, the new student orientation, and then meet with a counselor before you can enroll in classes.

  2. Assessment (must be completed before orientation)

  4. Counseling
        You must either schedule an individual counseling appointment or see a
        counselor during drop-in hours. When you meet with a counselor you need
        to bring your: Orientation confirmation, ARC assessment results, and high
        school transcript

Notes:
Students who have an associate degree or higher or who meet at least two of the following criteria are exempt from participating in assessment, orientation and counseling:

  • Identified a goal of upgrading job skills
  • Enrolled in fewer than six units
  • Enrolled in another college
  • Have no degree or occupational objective
